The season is over, Celtic have made us depressed, frustrated, exhilarated and finally CHAMPIONEES. What an end to it all! Celtic used a total of 33 players during the season (excluding friendlies) and I have done a game by game analysis which can be viewed in the link at the top right hand corner.

The summary is as follows (my own markings are based on:
Below 5 is a no, no.
5 - 5.4 = an average SPL player.
5.5- 5.9 = A player who could be a valuable squad player for Celtic.
6 - 6.4 = An automatic pick for Celtic and a player who could succeed in the EPL
6.5 - 6.9 = A player who could play in any European league.)

................. ........ Ave.........APP.........SUBS......MOM

BORUC............. 6.9.........44..............0...............9
COMMENT: Our one real top class player and one who I hope will gives us one more season at least.

ROBSON ............6.4..... ..15
COMMENT: A player who had such an impact on Celtic retaining the Championship. A bargain buy in the Jan window and one who will surely produce an even higher level of performance next season.

McGEADY ...........6.4......... 50......... 3............... 6
COMMENT: The most improved player who still has so much more to offer. His increase in pace and commitment was a delight to behold and watching him play for Eire is interesting to notice how he is being asked to make the quick pass.

McMANUS ...........6.3........ 52
COMMENT: He played a real Captain's part in the end. Made the most appearances, became the youngest title winning captain in Celtic's history and established himself in the Scotland team.

HARTLEY ..................6.3......... 39................ 5.................. 5
COMMENT: Had a torrid game against Falkirk (although that was at right back) but waited his chance, which I think was helped greatly by McLeish who played him in a holding role for Scotland, and teamed up with Robson to win the Championship.

WILSON.......... .......6.3......... 15........ 12
COMMENT: Although limited in appearances by injury he did well whenever he was played. I have hopes that next season he will be allowed a longer run and that his quality will come through.

CALDWELL...................6.2............ 50
COMMENT: If he had not been played at right back during the early part of the season his rating would have been much higher. Absolutely superb during the run-in.

KENNEDY ...................6.1............. 14.............. 2............. 1
COMMENT: If not for his injury might have made difficult for McManus or Caldwell. Let's hope he recovers for 2008/09

McDONALD..................5.9............... 51............. 2.............. 3
COMMENT: What a steal! 31 goals in his first season and now the SPL's fourth top goal scorer ever. Let's hope he keeps it up next season.

BROWN......................5.8............... 46............. 2.............. 3

COMMENT: Was very impressed by his early form but then watched his performances slowly and surely dip (perhaps his very sad family situ affected him). Really confident he will 'bounce back' next season

NAKA......................... 5.8................ 33............. 2............... 1
COMMENT: Came back from the close season jaded and injured and was not as effective as the previous season but still lit up the park on many occasions.

HINKELL........................... 5.7................ 19................. 2
COMMENT:A very impressive start but weaknesses in his defensive abilities makes me slightly concerned as to whether he will be our regular right back.

SAMARAS....................... 5.6................. 19................. 14.................. 1
COMMENT: On loan and very popular with the supporters. Scored a few vital goals but if the fee is 3m I think Celtic should politely say "no".

JVOH.............................. 5.4.................. 46.................. 2................... 2
COMMENT: A very poor start to the campaign but the arrival of Samaras co-incided with a much higher level of performance culminating in THE goal against Rangers and the 'Bratback' goal against Dundee U.

JAROSIK......................... 5.4.................. 14.................. 3.................... 1
COMMENT: Rightly transferred during the Jan window.

M BROWN....................... 5.1.................. 10................. 1
COMMENT: Celtic's worst run of results co-incided with his appearances. Would let go and sign the Dun U Polish goalkeeper.

NAYLOR.......................... 5.1................... 46.................0.................... 1
COMMENT: Wish him well and let him go.

DONATI............................ 5.1................... 39................ 5..................... 1
COMMENT: Should he go, should he stay? I would not be too upset if he stayed for one more season. He has talent, does he have the heart?

SNO............................ ........4.8................... 22................ 16
COMMENT: A difficult year for a young man who suffered the embarrassment of being booed by a small but vocal minority of the supposed "best fans in the world". I believe he has talent and would be disappointed to see him leave at this stage of his development.

RIORDAN.......................... 4.8.................. 12................. 8
COMMENT: Has no future at C.P.for a variety of reasons.

KILLEN............................. 3.9................... 24................. 20
COMMENT: Slower than JVOH! Must go.

The other players are a mixed bag:
BALDE should leave, our style of football has moved on.
CADDIS has a lot of promise.
CONROY I doubt will make it.
DOUMBE will be fit next season and will be a good squad player.
HUTCHINSON is an exciting young prospect.
McGOVERN will struggle to make it at Celtic.
O'BRIEN - ditto
O'DEA - He's a good young player with his lack of pace his main drawback. Disappointed he played so few games.
